New Admissions Coordinator at RTS Washington

President Scott Redd of RTS Washington announced that Timoteo Sazo is assuming the role of Admissions Coordinator at the seminary. Working alongside the admission team, Sazo’s responsibilities include facilitating the admissions program as a whole, leading strategic initiatives, and collaborating on the campus’s online presence.

“Timo has been an active member of the RTS Washington community for several years, as a student and a teaching assistant,” said Dr. Redd. “I am thrilled that he is moving into this new role where he will be able to benefit the young men and women who come through our doors as prospective students.”

Sazo was born in Santiago, Chile, but later moved to Punta Arenas, the country’s southernmost city, a few hours from Antarctica. He was raised by Christian parents, but at the age of 13 he first personally believed in the Lord through the faithful ministry of an Anglican church in the area. Sazo then moved back to Santiago to attend Catholic University, where he majored in English Literature and Linguistics. In 2008, Timo met Kaitlin, who was spending a semester studying in Chile, and a few years later they were married in Washington, DC, where they lived until moving to their current location in Northern Virginia. Now the Sazos are members at Sterling Park Baptist Church.

Over the years, Sazo has served the local church at Capitol Hill Baptist Church and Sterling Park, and he has served the broader Christian community as editor at The Gospel Coalition. In 2014, he began seminary as RTS Washington, where he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. He plans on graduating in the spring of 2018.

“RTS Washington is committed to training the next generation of pastors and Christian leaders, drawing from the deep well of the Reformed and evangelical tradition,” said Dr. Redd, “Timo offers a perfect representative of our vision for theological education, and he is committed to the same vision for our prospective students.”
